1. Steel & Metals Processing

1.The detector captures 8–14 μm infrared radiation emitted by the target and converts it into a surface temperature reading. The operating wavelength avoids atmospheric absorption peaks, ensuring minimal interference from water vapor or CO₂ in industrial environments; consequently, no compensation is required at standard operating distances. As physical contact with the target is unnecessary, the device is ideal for monitoring moving parts, live electrical components, or high-temperature surfaces.
2. It features a 20:1 optical resolution-a standard, reliable specification-meaning a spot size of approximately 50 mm at a distance of 1 meter. During on-site installation, simply calculate the distance and aiming point based on this ratio. The optical path is fixed and contains no moving parts, ensuring alignment stability after initial setup.
3. Since the raw output of the detector is non-linear relative to temperature, internal circuitry performs multi-point calibration to linearize the response. It outputs a 4–20 mA signal or Modbus data, allowing the PLC to read the temperature value directly without requiring additional curve fitting within the DCS.
