Key Features
Signal Output Types
The force detected by the internal sensing element is converted into a continuous electrical output. Depending on the device, this can be an analog signal (e.g., voltage like 0-10V or current like 4-20 mA), a digital signal, or a switching signal used for alarms or triggers.
Pressure Types
They can be configured to measure varying points of reference, including Absolute Pressure (relative to a perfect vacuum), Gauge Pressure (relative to atmospheric pressure), or Differential Pressure (the difference between two separate pressure points).
Measurement Ranges
They are highly versatile, covering a broad spectrum of requirements—from very low-sensing (inches of water) to extreme environments requiring thousands of PSI.
Speed and Sensitivity

Strain gauge
A strain is defined as the proportional expansion or contraction of materials, as an object applies force. Strain gauges, as the name implies, use these tangible changes in the spring’s dimensions to measure pressure.
Piezoelectric
Piezoelectric sensors work by employing the piezoelectric effect. The piezoelectric effect describes the generation of an electric charge as a response to physical changes to material.
Capacitive
Capacitors are devices used to store an electric charge. They operate by having two conductors separated by a close gap between each other. The sensor can measure the capacitance between the two plates.
Manometers
The earliest devices used to measure pressure comprised of glass tubes filled with liquid. Manometers are essentially that – a tube that uses liquid movement to compare the pressure experienced by its two surfaces.
Applications
Applied to hydraulic system
Pressure sensors are mainly used in hydraulic systems to complete closed-loop control of force. When the control valve core moves suddenly, a peak pressure that is several times the system working pressure will form in a very short period of time.
Used in injection molds
Pressure sensors play an important role in injection molds. The pressure sensor can be installed in the nozzle, hot runner system, cold runner system and mold cavity of the injection molding machine.
Applied to safety control system
Pressure sensors are often used in safety control systems, and their main area is the safety management system of the air compressor itself.
