Thermal Gas Flow Meter

Thermal Gas Flow Meter

The HNF80-B thermal gas mass flow meter uses thermal diffusion technology to calculate flow rate by the amount of heat removed. Internal temperature and pressure compensation ensures accurate and stable flow measurement over a wide operating range.
Multiple mounting options—threaded, flanged, and insertion—allow it to measure pipe sizes from DN4 to DN4000.
This flow meter is specifically designed for industrial gas monitoring and process control, and is widely used for compressed air, natural gas, nitrogen, oxygen, biogas, flue gas, and other non-corrosive gases.

Hongnuo (shenyang) General Machinery Co., Ltd. is one of the most reliable manufacturers and suppliers of thermal gas flow meter in China. Welcome to buy high quality thermal gas flow meter at competitive price from our factory. We also accept customized orders.

Where HNF80-B Is Commonly Used

product-627-627
  • Compressed Air Consumption Monitoring

In many factories, compressed air is one of the most expensive utility costs. HNF80-B helps operators understand where air is being consumed and identify leakage or unnecessary usage before it affects production efficiency.

  • Natural Gas Usage Measurement

Suitable for monitoring gas consumption in burners, boilers and industrial heating equipment, providing reliable data for energy management and cost control.

  • Wastewater Aeration Systems

Maintaining stable airflow is critical for biological treatment processes. The meter provides continuous monitoring of blower and aeration performance to support efficient plant operation.

  • Chemical Process Gas Monitoring

Used to track the flow of nitrogen, oxygen, process gases and exhaust gases throughout production processes, helping maintain consistent operating conditions.

  • Power & Utility Facilities

Commonly installed on combustion air lines, fuel gas systems and utility pipelines where accurate gas consumption data is required.

  • Biogas Recovery Projects

Supports measurement of biogas generated from digestion and waste treatment systems, helping operators optimize renewable energy utilization

Why Many Plants Choose Thermal Mass Flow Measurement

No Additional Compensation Required

Traditional gas flow measurement often requires pressure and temperature compensation. Thermal mass technology measures gas mass flow directly, reducing system complexity.

Useful for Both Small and Large Pipelines

Available in both inline and insertion configurations, making it suitable for applications ranging from equipment skids to large utility networks.

Stable Performance Over Long Operating Periods

Without gears, bearings or moving measuring elements, routine maintenance requirements are significantly reduced.

Particularly Effective for Compressed Air Systems

Many users select thermal mass flow meters specifically for compressed air monitoring because they perform well across a wide flow range and help identify energy losses.

Easy Integration into Existing Control Systems

Flow data can be transmitted to PLC, DCS or SCADA systems for monitoring, reporting and energy management purposes.

Suitable for Energy Saving Projects

Accurate gas consumption data provides a foundation for leak detection, efficiency improvement and utility cost reduction initiatives.

HNF80-B GAS FLOW ADVANTAGE

HNF80-B Thermal Gas Mass Flow Meter
Specific Parameters Value / Description
Measurement Principle The HNF80-B thermal gas mass flow meter operates based on the principle of thermal dispersion. The sensor integrates two platinum resistance temperature detectors (RTD): one is heated to a constant temperature above the medium temperature as a speed sensor, and the other serves as a temperature sensor for real-time monitoring of the gas temperature and compensating for environmental changes. When the gas flows past, it carries away the heat from the speed sensor, causing the working current required to maintain its constant temperature to increase. This current change is directly proportional to the mass flow rate of the gas. By measuring this current change, the mass flow rate of the gas can be directly and accurately obtained without the need for additional temperature or pressure compensation.
